Welcome to Wasatch Pony Club's annual USEA recognized Golden Spike Horse Trails!

This year's event will take place June 6th through June 9th at Golden Spike Event Center in Ogden, Utah.

As a non-profit, the Wasatch Pony Club uses the proceeds from the Golden Spike Horse Trials to provide opportunities, maintain a rainy day fund to guarantee the event will be able to continue even in a bad year, and maintain and upgrade the cross-country course. As it stands now, Golden Spike is the only free cross country course to school in Utah, and it also attracts visitors from many of the surrounding states! By entering and/or volunteering at any WPC event you help keep this wonderful place alive for everyone to use and enjoy!

We would not be able to run these events without volunteers like you. So THANK YOU!
Head on over to Event Days at the top to sign up!

Thursday (6/6) will consist of setting up and schooling rounds, on Friday (6/7) the event begins with dressage, on Saturday (6/8) the event continues with cross country, and on Sunday (6/9) the event finishes with show jumping.

Dressage will take place on the racetrack, showjumping will take place in the arena inside the racetrack on the south side, and cross country will take place on the cross country course in and outside of the track. Feel free to acquaint yourselves with the map of Golden Spike with the link below.

Don't know what to sign up for? For most positions prior horse and eventing knowledge is useful, however is not a requirement. A few videos and on the spot training will get you up to speed. ;)

*Volunteer time slots are subject to slightly change once times are posted. There will be emails noting the changes and if there is a conflict please contact me. :)

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments please reach out to Morgan Dickerman at [email protected].

The Golden Spike Horse Trials ran for the first time in 1987 and was named the Best New Combined Training Event in the United States. That same year, however, the cross-country course was threatened. The incredible commitment of the Wasatch Pony Club to the Golden Spike Cross Country course of the last 30 years has made for a very special and unique event. Wasatch Pony Club's dedication to the preservation of equestrian open space has been key; over the years we have seen many courses come and go and are determined to keep ours alive!
