The Middleburg HorseTrials is excited  to run at the historic and beautiful Great Meadow FieldEvents Center in The Plains. This is our fourth year running the event at thislocation. Volunteers will be given a voucher that can be used for schooling theTuesday after the HT from 8AM-1PM.

  • August 19-22: MARS GREAT MEADOW INTERNATIONAL
  • September 25-26: Old Tavern H.T. at Great Meadow

Great Meadow has ahistory of  three-day events that dates back to the 80s where legends likeBruce Davidson, Jim Wofford and David O’Connor participated in USEF sanctionedevents. After a brief hiatus, high-performance eventing returned to GreatMeadow in 2014 after the Foundation purchased the adjacent Fleming Farmexclusively to run eventing competitions. After initially running a USEFtraining session to prepare the US Eventing team for the 2014 World EquestrianGames, the Great Meadow International (GMI) was born. GMI ran a CIC3* in 2015and then later became the first venue outside of Europe to host a leg of theprestigious Nations Cup of Eventing. In 2019 the GMl ran a CCI2-S, CCI3-S, andCCI4-S and will again in 2020 as well as adding a Preliminary level.

MOC is thrilled tobring its long running and popular Horse trials to Great Meadow on June 5-6,2021. From MOC Organizer, Max Corcoran: “We are so excited about MiddleburgHorse Trials at Great Meadow. With the purchase of new land by The Great MeadowFoundation, it has opened up the opportunity to have another horse trials inaddition to Great Meadow International. It is a top-notch facility that is veryhistoric and special to the equestrian community.” Course designer DavidO’Connor and MOC course builder John Wells have built a beautiful course on theFleming Farm parcel. Middleburg Horse Trials will run its usual levels ofbeginner novice, novice, training and preliminary. The venue also includes astate-of-the-art oval show jumping arena with adjacent warm-up arena, both withAtwood footing.
